MCC Receives GroMoreGood Garden Grant
Maternity Care Coalition’s Early Head Start program was recently awarded with the GroMore Garden Grant from the Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. This grant was created to connect more of our nation’s youth to the benefits of gardening and outdoor play.
The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and The National Head Start Association work together through the GroMoreGood Garden Grants Initiative to combat pressing challenges facing today’s youngest generation, improving access to healthy food, and increasing time spent outdoors connected to nature. The program makes garden grants, garden kits, educational curriculum, and garden training available to Head Start programs with the goal of creating more edible gardens and hands-on learning experiences for young children.
