Community Reproductive Health
At Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) we offer individuals and families a broad range of reproductive health services to ensure equitable access and quality resources across a lifespan. We know how important it is to take control of your reproductive health and that each person has unique needs.
What is Reproductive Health?
Reproductive health is complete physical, mental, and social well-being related to the reproductive system and all its functions and processes. At MCC, we recognize that reproductive health is part of overall healthcare, which allows individuals and families to feel empowered and reach their full potential. Reproductive health implies that people can have a satisfying and safe sex life and that they have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so.
How We Help
We address issues impacting the full spectrum of reproductive health. MCC staff are trained in and provide basic education about reproductive health. Through our Advocates, community health workers, and partnerships with community-based reproductive healthcare providers, we connect individuals to resources that help them make informed decisions about reproductive health, including all pregnancy options and family planning. This includes:
- Menstrual and reproductive health education and products such as birth control, pregnancy testing, and period products
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and care
- Early detection and prevention of health conditions including cervical and breast cancer screening
- Menopause services
Our Approach
At MCC, we know that access to the full spectrum of reproductive health options improves birth outcomes. Supporting access to reproductive health services, including all pregnancy options, enables us to support families in the communities we serve as they move through their reproductive health, pregnancy, and parenting needs and journeys.
