Our Mission

The mission of Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) is to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women and parenting families, and enhance school readiness for children 0-3.

Our Vision

Maternity Care Coalition envisions an equitable future where all families are healthy and connected, with all children thriving and ready to learn.

  • Each child is welcomed.
  • Each person is nurtured and achieves their full potential.
  • Parents and caregivers are empowered to care for themselves and their children.
  • Communities understand and act upon the imperative to provide systematic support.

As a result, all families and individuals are healthy, connected and economically self-sufficient and all children thrive and are ready to learn.

Our Impact

We envision a future where parents impacted by racial and social inequities can birth with dignity, parent with autonomy, and raise babies who are healthy, growing, and thriving.

Our Strategic Plan

In 2023, MCC began an intensive year-long process of defining its Strategic Plan for the next few years. Through stakeholder engagement, ecosystem mapping, internal systems assessment, and scenario planning, calculated decisions were made to compile a set of priorities, goals, and objectives to guide the organization in achieving its intended impact.

“With completing our Theory of Change in 2021 and being awarded opportunities for growth over the past few years, it was imperative to invest in a new Strategic Plan. The collaborative work put into developing this will keep us focused on prioritizing what matters most - the families we serve.”
– Marianne A. Fray, President & CEO

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

Maternity Care Coalition is dedicated to fairness and belonging for our staff and the people we serve. We recognize the impact of historical and racial injustice and are committed to making lasting change for equity and equality. We engage our staff in assessments, training, and planning to focus on three key areas: our culture, leadership, and policies. By embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in everything we do, we aim to have happier employees, better services, and greater impact.

Theory of Change

At MCC, how we do our work is as important as the services we offer. We work at the family, community, and policy level to address the racial and social inequities experienced by parents and their children.
