RECAP: Celebrating Mothers Brunch 2022
After two years apart, Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) brought together over 400 professionals, volunteers, and philanthropists on June 4th, 2022 for the 18th Annual Celebrating Mothers Brunch at The Bellevue Hotel.
The excitement in the room was palpable as MCC supporters came together once again to honor all mothers, birthing people, and parents by listening and learning from all the amazing speakers and educators both on stage and in the crowd.
An impactful moment during the program was the presentation of awards to three people who work tirelessly to advance maternal and child health every day. This year Erica Chidi and Dr. Aasta Mehta were the recipients of Strengthening Families Award, and Dr. Mary-Ann Etiebet received the Spirit of Motherhood Award.
“Whatever the problem, community is the answer, and we as humans can get through anything as long as we’re together.” MCC’s Chief Executive Officer, Marianne Fray reflected on these words during the program to emphasize the importance of why it is crucial that we continue to gather and demonstrate our shared commitment to MCC’s mission to help advance health equity. The impact of these words continues to grow as MCC works to provide support networks to help parents and families thrive.
Thanks to record-breaking attendee participation in the online auction, fund-a-need, and other donations and sponsorships, MCC raised over $185,000 to continue providing critical support to parents and caregivers.
