Week of the Young Child 2025 was celebrated earlier this month, April 7 - 11.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children organizes this celebration dedicated to early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. The week raises awareness of Early Childhood Education, the importance of play, fosters our community, and recognizes the work of our Early Childhood Educators!

MCC celebrated Week of the Young Child with our families and Early Head Start students, using daily themes that encourage learning through activities, including: Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday!

Students at our Early Head Start childcare center had a blast during a visit from KIDazzle on Music Monday, complete with songs, stories, and puppets. Theme days kept students engaged and celebrating all week long.

Families enrolled in our Home Visiting programs received activities and resources they could use to join in on the fun from home, and had the opportunity to come together to play and learn at an MCC Early Head Start site.

MCC families and staff look forward to Week of the Young Child every year, but at MCC, we recognize the importance of Early Childhood education and development all year long!
