The fourth annual Black Maternal Health Caucus 2024 Stakeholder Summit was held in Joliet, Illinois, on Monday, August 26, 2024.

MCC was thrilled to be invited to learn about recent federal progress to improve maternal health outcomes, attend trainings on how to access federal funding secured by the Black Maternal Health Caucus, and consider spotlighted opportunities to continue to advance the Momnibus Act and key maternal health legislative priorities.

President and CEO Marianne Fray attended the summit, creating and building on partnerships and strategies with new and existing collaborators. Marianne attended sessions around Using Our Voices for Change and Unlocking Federal Dollars: How to Get Momnibus Funding for Research and Innovation.

It was exciting to be in a space of shared vision and momentum to end the maternal health crisis in the United States. Information gathered, lessons learned, and relationships fostered were all brought back to MCC’s service area in Pennsylvania and Delaware, to bolster our continued advocacy for a more equitable and healthy future for all.
