MCC Celebrates the Spirit of Booth Maternity
Last week the Pennsylvania Historical Commission unveiled a historical marker commemorating Booth Maternity Center at what is now part of St Joseph University’s Campus. This was significant to me and the MCC family in many ways.
We’re Making an Impact – But We Need Help
Yesterday leading national experts joined Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) at our Spring Policy Forum: What’s Next? Surveying the federal policy landscape for women, children and families. Donna’s Story
It is an ugly, hard situation I don’t wish on anyone. It is a very bitter sip to swallow, like a nightmare, every day hoping to wake up...It wasn’t the home that my husband and I made with our children; it wasn’t complete. At Maternity Care Coalition, we assist mothers through the earliest stages of their children’s development. But what happens when parents are not their child’s only teacher, when children spend hours learning—and developing—in front of a screen?
Are you ready for the election?
Every four years we get wrapped up in the madness that is the presidential election. It starts with the murmurings of who will run and once candidates have entered the race and chosen their platforms we are bombarded with nonstop coverage until after Election Day.
Supporting Nursing Mothers is Good Business
At Maternity Care Coalition, we are working to make breastfeeding accessible and safe for mothers and their children. To accomplish this, we are encouraging policy makers to support HB-11oo, the Workplace Accommodations for Nursing Mothers Act, which would promote workplace fairness by ensuring that nursing moms have a private, sanitary place to express breast milk and reasonable break time to do so across the state of Pennsylvania.
