Early Head Start

If you are pregnant and/or raising young children (0 – 3 years old), we want to partner with you. We provide skills for effective parenting and support to reach your personal and family goals.  We can help your child thrive through meaningful learning experiences towards school readiness.  We offer both home-based and center-based program options.

Early Head Start is an early care and education program that provides prenatal, home, and center-based services to pregnant women and families with children ages 0-3.

You may be eligible for services if you are:

  • Pregnant or have a child under 3 years of age
  • Have an income at or below the federal poverty guidelines
  • Live in South Philadelphia, Norristown, or Pottstown
  • Experiencing homelessness
  • Foster parent
  • Have a child with a disability

Early Head Start serves families through center-based care and home visiting by providing:

  • High quality educational and family support
  • Free developmental and health screenings for children
  • Services for children with disabilities
  • Connection to community resources for job training, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, medical and dental care, and more
  • Baby basics such as diapers, clothing, infant formula, and baby food
