Healthy Babies Advocate

MCC seeks a self-motivated individual to fill the Advocate position for a new program, Healthy Babies.  This program will work with babies and caregivers, during NICU stays for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) due to fetal exposure to opioids or other substances, and after hospital discharge. Will be proving support to Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and/or parts of Delaware County, requiring significant local travel. Qualified candidates will have experience living in Philadelphia communities served by MCC programs; knowledge and experience of substance use; knowledge of maternal child health or other community health issues; experience providing services in a community setting; and excellent communication skills. An Associate’s degree is required.  A Bachelor’s degree in social work or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Cribs for Kids Advocate

MCC is seeking an Advocate for their Cribs for Kids program. The Advocate will conduct community education and outreach to pregnant and parenting families with a focus on SIDS risk reduction and safe sleep through home visits and educational workshops. The Advocate will also provide administrative support to the program. Qualified candidates will have knowledge about community resources, an interest in maternal and child health, excellent communication, organizational and computer skills and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. High school diploma or GED, required.  Valid driver’s license and driving experience, required.

Safe Start Case Manager

MCC seeks a self-motivated individual to fill an Advocate position within the Safe Start MOMobile program. The Advocate will provide culturally sensitive in-home case management and patient navigation services to medically high risk pregnant women, including assessment, referral, follow-up, monitoring and needed supportive services. In this role, Advocates receive in-depth community health worker and doula training, among other trainings.

Qualified candidates will have experience living in Philadelphia communities served by MCC programs; knowledge of maternal child health or other community health issues; experience providing services in a community setting; and excellent communication skills. An Associate’s degree is required. A degree in social work, counseling, public health, nursing or a closely related field is a plus. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required. Early Head Start Teacher

A teacher is needed for the Early Head Start program to assist with the implementation of the education program as outlined in both the adopted curriculum and the Head Start Performance Standards. The EHS teacher communicates daily with parents and staff regarding educational strengths and/or concerns of enrolled children, writes daily lesson plans and individualized daily schedules for each child, records daily observations and conducts quarterly home visits.

We seek interested individuals with experience working with young children (preferably infants or toddlers) and working with parents and community volunteers. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA in Infant/Toddler is required. The position is in South Philadelphia. Individuals who are bilingual in Spanish/English and in Indonesian/English are encouraged to apply.
